ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Mary McEwan is a genealogical and historical researcher of over thirty years who has specialized in helping people find their families free on the internet. She has written three previous books on finding your family free in the United States, Canada, and in military records around the world.
Mary is a member of: AAHGS Afro-American Historical and Genealogical Society, ASALH Association for the Study of African American Life and History, and DAR, Daughters of the American Revolution.
She has been honored with a Historical Preservation Award from the Daughters of the American Revolution. As a student she was also awarded the Thurgood Marshall Memorial Scholarship.
Mary has been a featured speaker at historical and genealogical conferences throughout the Pacific Northwest.
Mary was also the writer and host of Find You Family Free on Channel 22, Community TV in Olympia, Washington.
Over the past few years Mary has devoted herself to bringing forth the amazing history and family records of African -Black Americans at a price everyone could afford and have access to.
African American Gold is the loving result of her efforts.
